Position Overview

The Regional Business Development Manager is responsible for driving commercial growth, expanding market presence, and representing the company’s brand across a designated territory in North America. This strategic role involves developing and executing targeted sales plans, fostering long-term customer relationships, and collaborating with internal teams to meet revenue and profitability goals. Reporting directly to the VP of Sales & Marketing, the manager will work closely with marketing and product development to ensure cohesive strategies and maximize market impact. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in sales and business development within the electrical components or related manufacturing sectors, along with a strong record of market expansion and relationship management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement territory-specific sales strategies that align with broader organizational goals and market conditions.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to increase revenue and customer base within key industry segments.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, distributors, and strategic partners, positioning the company as a preferred supplier.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by delivering on commitments and responding proactively to feedback and service needs.
  • Track and analyze regional sales performance metrics, providing regular updates and insights to senior leadership and adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Manage regional budgets and forecasts, ensuring financial targets are met while supporting strategic growth initiatives.
  • Ensure all sales activities adhere to company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including marketing, product development, supply chain, and customer service—to support seamless execution of sales initiatives.
  • Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to internal teams to support product innovation and strategic planning.
  • Coordinate with global sales teams to ensure consistent engagement and strategy alignment with multinational customers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in sales and business development within the electrical or electronic components industry in North America.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute sales strategies that deliver measurable growth in revenue and market share.
  • Strong understanding of key account management, distribution networks, and business development practices relevant to the region.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and compliance protocols, including IATF 16949, IEC, APQP, and PPAP.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with a talent for building and maintaining stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and proficiency in using data to inform decisions and optimize sales performance.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the region and occasionally to corporate or international locations.
