Our client is seeking an HR Manager, Total Rewards to be responsible for the end-to-end management of employee benefits, leave administration, engagement events, and recognition programs. This role ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, leads the planning and execution of Team Member programs and events, and collaborates cross-functionally with HRIS, Payroll, Communications, and external vendors. The manager provides expert counsel on benefit-related issues while driving accuracy, efficiency, and an exceptional employee experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Benefits & Leave Administration
- Lead and support the benefits and engagement team, ensuring high-quality execution of all benefit programs.
- Administer all employee benefits (medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, LTD, 401(k), COBRA, FSA, and voluntary programs).
- Ensure accurate and timely enrollment processing and handle life event changes.
- Conduct monthly audits for 401(k) and hardship withdrawals, ensuring data accuracy and compliance.
- Serve as primary liaison for benefit vendors and carriers; resolve benefit/claim issues.
- Oversee claims processing for life, AD&D, and 401(k) death benefits.
- Manage all leave processes (FMLA, ADA, etc.), ensuring documentation accuracy and legal compliance.
- Partner with management and payroll on leave coordination and communication.
- Plan and coordinate open enrollment, working closely with HRIS and external vendors.
- Audit and improve benefit and leave processes for ongoing efficiency and compliance.
Employee Engagement & Events
- Create and manage an annual calendar of employee events in coordination with Sales & Catering and Special Events.
- Plan and execute monthly, quarterly, and seasonal team member events both onsite and offsite.
- Organize Annual Wellness Fairs and community outreach events that promote employee engagement and volunteerism.
- Collaborate with PR on community involvement initiatives.
- Employee Recognition Programs
- Administer ongoing recognition programs; monitor effectiveness and adjust annually.
- Manage contests, raffles, clubs, and giveaways focused on company culture, wellness, and employee development.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of general HR experience.
- Minimum 3 years in a supervisory or managerial HR role, overseeing exempt and non-exempt staff.
- Extensive experience in event planning, execution, and employee engagement.
HR Expertise:
- Strong knowledge of leave administration and related laws
- In-depth understanding of benefits compliance requirements including HIPAA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, Medicare, and DOL
- Familiar with HR best practices for recruitment, benefits, and compliance
Leadership & Interpersonal Skills:
- Collaborative leadership style focused on team development and positive outcomes
- Proven ability to train, coach, and develop HR team members
- Well-developed interpersonal skills with a strong ability to build productive relationships
- Maintains high levels of confidentiality, professionalism, and integrity.
Communication & Technical Skills:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills across all organizational levels.
- Strong listening and critical thinking abilities.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Able to handle sensitive issues with discretion, tact, and diplomacy.
Organizational & Problem-Solving Abilities:
- Strong planning, time management, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Resourceful problem solver with a guest service mindset.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual in Spanish -- ability to read, write and speak fluently.
- Experience working with ADP benefits management and leave administration products.
- Experience with ADP Recruitment Platforms or other similar applicant tracking systems.

Experience in a paperless environment for all benefit and recruitment processes.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- May be tasked with lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling up to 25 lbs., if able to do so.
- Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time and walk/stand for moderate periods of time.
- Must be able to bend at the knees and waist frequently
- Must be able to repetitively use a telephone and a computer mouse and keyboard.
