We're supporting an industry leading centrifugal pump manufacturer with a Purchaser/Buyer opportunity at their Shreveport service and repair facility. Ideal candidate will have experience purchasing parts, equipment and services for industrial or manufacturing facilities. Position requires contacting vendors to request quotes, issue PO's, and receive invoices. Prior experience with Epicor P21 (Profit21) is highly preferred, but similar ERP experience may be considered.

Responsibilities of the Purchasing/Buyer position include, but are not limited to:

• Assist with inventory and procurement
• Manage the open purchase order report with a heavy focus on expediting
• Resolve pricing discrepancies and other issues as needed
• Monitor stock outs and make recommendations for changes in stocking levels
• Communicate with the field on purchase order issues, extended lead times, and critical customer requirements
• Monitor supplier performance and respond to the daily needs of customers
• Assist with projects as desired 

• Previous purchasing experience in an Industrial Distribution environment preferred
• Computer literate, preferably Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Able to work closely with others in a team environment, good interpersonal skills
• Adaptable to change; must be willing to make necessary adjustments to meet department workload and deadlines
