                              Procurement Coordinator- Steel
        Salary : $ 70,000 - $ 80,0000 + Quarterly Bonuses + 12% 401K
 
 

This is an exempt salary position where the employee performs impartial supervisory functions for the purchasing department, including disciplinary actions as required, and approves vacation schedules and time sheets. Employee exercises a greater degree of independent judgment and analysis to interface with vendors to inquire, negotiate, and procure indirect materials, supplies, fixed assets and tooling and select production materials and services in accordance with established company policies and procedures to facilitate the cost-efficient operation and production requirements of corporate and company-wide manufacturing facilities.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

·    BS Degree in Purchasing or Supply Chain Management, Required or Equivalent Combination of Education and Experience

·    Minimum Five (5) Years Purchasing and Supply Chain Management Experience in a Steel Industry or Manufacturing/Distribution, Required

·    Contract Negotiation Experience, Preferred

·    Microsoft D365 Experience, A Plus

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

·    Ability to understand established purchasing principles and company purchasing policies and procedures for procurement of commodities, materials, logistics services, inventory control and all aspects of supply chain management

·  

·    Competent, personable listening, verbal, and written communication skills and high degree of independent judgment and analysis to interact with departmental personnel, plant personnel, and outside vendors/suppliers to sustain professional working relationships and to effectively write routine correspondence and/or reports

·    Proficient information gathering and monitoring skills to facilitate effective, unbiased decision-making and problem-solving functions

·    Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task and work independently with limited supervision

·    Basic math skills with ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

·    Proficient knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ERP systems

·    Ability to work under time pressure and meet deadlines

·    Possess a positive attitude with a “Team member” mentality with the ability to adapt to change

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·    Promote the development of economies of scale and the improvement and optimization of relationships, making uniform and centralizing control of the Suppliers Management/purchasing process.

·    Participate in the supplier selection process and implement the best practices for managing the purchasing process.

·    Manage Steel Coil Inventory

·    Monitor the suitability of the requirements of suppliers in relation to the needs of the Group

·    Work with vendors/suppliers to inquire, negotiate, and purchase material to procure indirect materials, supplies, fixed assets and tooling and select production materials and services in compliance with safety and corporate guidelines on business ethics.

·    Expedite and communicate order status to the plants.

·    Perform buyer functions as required.

·    Operate office machines such as computer, calculators, and duplicating machines to assist in the performance of purchasing duties.

·    Perform back-up duties for buyers in the Purchasing department.

·    Prepare and submit required reports.

·    Perform any other related job duty as requested by executive management to ensure timely, accurate procurement of commodities and services.
