We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant or Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C) to join our growing Pulmonary Medicine private practice. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with our board-certified Pulmonologists and multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with a wide range of respiratory conditions. This role involves both outpatient, with a focus on accurate diagnosis, comprehensive treatment, and ongoing education for patients with chronic lung disease. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations. 

  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic pulmonary conditions such as asthma, COPD, sleep apnea, interstitial lung disease, and pulmonary hypertension. 

  • Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests such as chest imaging, pulmonary function tests, arterial blood gases, and sleep studies. 

  • Develop individualized treatment plans and collaborate with physicians to optimize patient outcomes. 

  • Provide patient education on disease management, medication adherence, lifestyle modification, and smoking cessation. 

  • Manage follow-up visits and long-term care for chronic respiratory conditions. 

  • Perform or assist with in-office procedures (e.g., spirometry, oxygen qualification testing, bronchodilator assessments). 

  • Document all encounters accurately and efficiently in the electronic health record (EHR). 

  • Communicate effectively with referring physicians, specialists, and care teams to ensure continuity of care. 

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain current clinical knowledge through continuing education.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) program. 

  • Current and unrestricted license to practice as an NP or PA in the State of Florida.

  • Current certification by AANP/ANCC (for NP) or NCCPA (for PA-C). 

  • DEA license (or eligibility to obtain). 

  • Prior experience in pulmonary, critical care, internal medicine, or related specialty preferred (new graduates with a strong interest in pulmonary medicine encouraged to apply). 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. 

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
