Note: This position requires employees to be on-site five days a week at our client’s San Diego, CA office and includes travel to Los Angeles, CA for trial support.

About Our Client

Our client is a highly respected litigation firm known for handling emotionally sensitive, high-stakes matters with skill and empathy. They are currently preparing for a complex wrongful death trial involving the tragic loss of three children and are seeking a dedicated Trial Paralegal to support this impactful case. This is an opportunity to work closely on a single, meaningful matter alongside a compassionate legal team.

Job Description

  • Support attorneys in preparing for trial, including organizing exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders
  • Draft and file pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and discovery responses
  • Manage and summarize medical records and key case evidence
  • Assist with scheduling and preparing expert and lay witnesses
  • Coordinate courtroom logistics and technology for trial
  • Maintain organized case files in digital and physical formats
  • Attend trial in Los Angeles to provide direct courtroom assistance
  • Ensure compliance with court deadlines and procedural rules
  • Serve as liaison for client communication and case updates

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of litigation paralegal experience
  • At least 2 years of experience must be in personal injury law
  • Experience supporting attorneys in trial settings is required
  • Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Strong knowledge of civil procedure and state/federal court rules
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and trial software (e.g., TrialPad, Trial Director)
  • Ability to manage emotionally sensitive wrongful death and injury cases
