Medical Biller - Nephrology Office
Location: Flint, MI
Job Type: Full Time, Monday - Friday
Compensation: $17-$19 per hour, based on experience
 
A busy nephrology office is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Biller to join their team. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge and experience in dialysis billing, hospital billing and handling insurance denials. 
This full time, on-site position offers consistent hours and a supportive team environment. 
 
Responsibilities: 
  • Review and work insurance denials and rejections in a timely manner. 
  • Accurately process and submit claims for nephrology, dialysis and hospital services. 
  • Follow up on unpaid claims and ensure timely reimbursement. 
  • Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility as needed. 
  • Collaborate with providers and staff to ensure correct coding and documentation. 
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and insurance billing guidelines. 
  • Respond to patient and insurance inquiries professionally and promptly. 
Qualifications: 
  • Minimum 2 years' experience of medical billing experience, preferably in nephrology or dialysis.
  • Strong understanding of dialysis and hospital billing processes. 
  • Experience working denials and appeals. 
  • CPT, ICD-10 and medical terminology. 
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. 
  • Proficient in billing software and EMR systems. 
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
