Location: East Lansing, MI

Salary: 55k - 90k (depending on experience/may vary)

Length: Full time

Shift: 1:30pm-10pm

Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This will be a direct hire, full time role. The Hospice RN will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to patients with terminal illnesses and their families in a hospice setting. This role is crucial in managing symptoms, providing emotional support, and ensuring the comfort of patients during their end-of-life journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care: Deliver holistic nursing care to patients, focusing on comfort, dignity, and quality of life.
  • Assessment: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs.
  • Care Planning: Develop, implement, and revise individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team and family members.
  • Symptom Management: Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, manage pain, and address other symptoms effectively.
  • Emotional Support: Provide emotional and spiritual support to patients and their families, assisting them in coping with end-of-life issues and decisions.
  • Education: Educate patients and families about the disease process, symptom management, and available resources.
  • Coordination: Coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team, including physicians, social workers, and chaplains, to ensure comprehensive support.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with hospice policies and regulations.
  • On-call Responsibilities: Participate in on-call rotations as required to provide support during after-hours.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate’s degree in Nursing with relevant experience considered.
  • License: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of [Insert State].
  • Experience: Minimum of [Insert Years] years of nursing experience preferred; hospice or palliative care experience is a plus.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; hospice and palliative care certification preferred.
