K. Jacobs is seeking an Electrical Estimator for a well-established and rapidly growing electrical contractor. With over 300 employees in New England, this firm is known for high-quality work across life science, healthcare, commercial, and industrial projects. 

Whether you’re a seasoned estimator or a motivated electrical professional looking to break into estimating, this could be a great fit. You don’t need prior estimating experience, but you do need a solid understanding of electrical systems and a sharp, tech-savvy mindset. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform quantity take-offs from scratch for commercial/industrial jobs of all sizes

• Enter take-offs into estimating software and create bid proposals

• Collaborate with internal engineering teams on design-build/assist projects

• Track competitor activity and material/subcontractor pricing to stay competitive

• Attend meetings with customers and project managers; assist with negotiations

• Report on bids submitted, won, and lost; help maintain a strong win ratio

• Meet productivity targets and contribute to ongoing process improvements

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as an estimator for an electrical contractor (or)

• Strong field or technical knowledge of electrical systems with a desire to move into estimating

• Familiarity with Bluebeam and estimating software (e.g., ConEst) a plus

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word

• Ability to interpret architectural/engineering drawings and electrical code requirements
