Process Development Engineer Foods or Chemical

Our client is experiencing rapid growth producing bulk food additives using state-of-the-art drying technologies. This company also designs and installs production units for internal use and for outside clients producing food additives as well as developing new processes to produce chemicals and consumer products. 70% of this engineer’s time will be spent in the pilot plant, or on the production floor developing new processes, running tests, and modifying existing equipment derived by process simulations, 30% of your time will be spent doing process simulation using CFD or other programs, analyzing process data, and setting up lab experiments. This person will use CAD to assist inside engineers and outside fabricators with new designs. You will be trained and mentored by senior engineers on plant and pilot plant processes. This person is eligible for a bonus, and a relocation package that will be tailored to each candidate’s needs.

 

Requirements:

  • BS, MS or PhD Chemical Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, or Physics with 5+ years of experience as a Process Development or  as a regular Process Engineer, or doing scale up or developing new processes and equipment with industrial experience out of foods, chemicals, or other industries.
  • 1+ year of some type of computer simulation such as CFD, FLUENT, COMSOL, MAT LAB, Aspen, or SimSci
  • Experience with one of the following: spray drying, drying, spraying, filtration, centrifugation, or any type of particle separation
  • Strong background in fundamental heat and mass transfer, fluid dynamics
  • Experience specifying and installing equipment in a lab or production setting

  • CAD, Rheology, molecular dynamics, and molecular force interactions, PLC’s
