As a Personal Lines Department Manager, you will lead your business line by developing and executing strategies to drive department growth, client retention, and operational excellence. You will oversee a team of Producers and Customer Service Agents, ensuring they have the training, support, and resources needed to succeed. You Will:

  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve department growth and retention goals.

  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and oversight to Producers and Customer Service Agents.

  • Maintain adequate staffing levels and oversee hiring, training, and professional development.

  • Establish, maintain, and refine department policies, procedures, and best practices.

  • Create and manage the departmental budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation.

  • Work closely with IT contractors to ensure the department has the necessary hardware, software, and equipment.

  • Continuously evaluate and implement process improvements to enhance performance and efficiency.

  • Oversee and support customer service functions, including applications, quotes, renewals, and coverage consultations.

  • Actively participate in business development activities, including lead generation and relationship-building.

  • Quote and issue new business while maintaining strong carrier relationships.

  • Resolve escalated customer issues with professionalism and efficiency.

  • Ensure effective oversight of both in-office and remote employees, fostering a strong and cohesive team environment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in the insurance industry.

  • Licensed to sell insurance in Washington State.

  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.

  • Proven leadership experience in a supervisory or management role.

  • Strong strategic planning, budgeting, and decision-making skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building abilities.

  • Proficiency in insurance software, databases, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.

  • Experience managing a high-performing sales or service team.

  • Strong understanding of underwriting, risk management, and carrier relations.

  • Track record of implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and service quality.
