Chemical client is seeking a lead project manager for overseeing projects from conception to commissioning, ensuring cost efficiency and top-quality product outcomes. Serve as a central point of contact for project economics and facilitate technical collaboration between project, operations, and regulatory teams.
Responsibilities:
--Drive projects from conception to startup, focusing on large continuous chemical operations.
--Advocate for projects with the commercial team, providing key economic insights.
--Liaise between project, operations, maintenance, and EH&S groups to incorporate operational and regulatory requirements into project designs.
--Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and oversee engineering and construction contractors.
--Ensure incorporation of "Lessons Learned" into current and future projects.
--Participate in budget, status, and management meetings, providing input and issue resolution.
--Manage day-to-day operational aspects of projects, applying and enforcing project standards.
--Minimize project risk by developing and monitoring risk registers throughout project development and execution.
--Ensure completeness, currency, and appropriate storage of project documents.
Qualifications
--BS in Engineering
--5+ years operating experience in projects/ operations; exp. in nitrogen or chemical manufacturing preferred
--Advanced degrees or certifications (PE, PMP, PMI) a plus
--Strong understanding of DCS/controls, piping, exchangers, waste heat systems, and static equipment
--Familiar with large capital projects (electrical, instrumentation, mechanical, civil)
--Proficient with MS Office, AutoCAD, NavisWorks, JD Edwards, and project scheduling tools
--Proven track record delivering plant projects safely, on time, and within budget
--Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
