Our Award Winning Client, recognized nationally for its innovative contributions to the Aerospace/Defense industry, is searching for a Director of Strategic Sourcing and Subcontracts. This pivotal role involves creating a comprehensive sourcing roadmap and leading the implementation of strategies that deliver maximum value to the organization. The selected individual will collaborate with key leaders to develop and maintain a robust supplier portfolio, building and nurturing strategic relationships to ensure the best outcomes for various programs.

The responsibilities include working closely with commodity leaders, administering supply chain functions (commodity management, procurement, material management, and subcontracts), developing pricing strategies, negotiating Long Term Agreements, and ensuring competitive pricing for proposals. The Director will also implement global sourcing initiatives and supplier selection processes, establish efficient policies to reduce costs, streamline operations, and improve overall performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute purchasing insights to strategic plans and reviews to meet operational standards in production, quality, and customer service.
  • Develop comprehensive purchasing and contract management policies, procedures, and instructions.
  • Identify procurement sources by engaging with vendors, engineers, purchasers, and inspectors, facilitating partnerships and material standardization.
  • Align materials and distribution strategies with organizational objectives through analysis and strategic thinking.
  • Negotiate significant long-term agreements to sustain competitive pricing for supplies and equipment.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in managing key supplier relations and driving continuous improvements across the supply chain.
  • Collaborate with global procurement to ensure a value-driven supply chain for all programs.
  • Oversee FAR/DFAR-compliant procurement and estimating processes, ensuring alignment with defense industry regulations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 8+ years of related experience or a Graduate Degree with 6+ years of related experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience across multiple business areas or functional teams.
  • Strong experience in defense supply chains (Army, Navy) is preferred.
  • Expertise in negotiating cost reduction strategies with complex supply chains.
  • Knowledge and experience with Source-to-Pay systems.
  • Ability to lead training sessions on FAR/DFAR regulations.

Additional Skills:

  • Experience with managing and expanding defense-related supply chains.
  • Strategic expertise in procurement and contract management.

Candidate Profile:This role is suited for a seasoned professional with 7-10 years of experience at the Director level, managing diverse teams and strategic supply chain functions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the Aerospace/Defense industry, particularly in working with complex supply chains tied to Army and Navy projects. A Bachelor’s degree is required, with occasional travel necessary.
