Our Award Winning Client, a nationally recognized and multi-award-winning organization, is seeking a Supervisor, Electrical Design Engineering to lead a focused group of electrical design professionals in the creation and integration of advanced test systems for military flight control equipment. This opportunity is based in Torrance, CA, and includes a flexible hybrid work model (minimum of 3 days/week onsite) and a 9/80 schedule for an improved work-life balance.

In This Leadership Role, You Will:

  • Provide technical direction and mentorship to a team of Electrical Engineers assigned to projects in support of aircraft control system validation.

  • Take a hands-on role (50–75%) as an engineering contributor, directly participating in the development of intricate electronic systems.

  • Partner with internal management to strategically allocate engineering talent across concurrent projects, ensuring quality and timely delivery.

  • Promote and enforce engineering standards and process excellence; drive improvements across the design lifecycle.

  • Contribute to global team collaboration, including occasional international travel (5–10%) as needed for project alignment.

  • Conduct regular performance reviews, participate in recruitment, and contribute to overall workforce development and strategic planning.

Required Skills and Technical Expertise:

  • Circuit Design (Analog and Digital)

  • Development of Electronic Test Consoles (ETC) tailored for ATP/QTP testing environments

  • Real-Time HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) and SIL (Software-in-the-Loop) Test System Design

  • Electrical Cabling and Wire Harness Configuration

  • Electromechanical Design Integration and Component Packaging

  • Printed Wiring Board (PWB) Design and Schematics

  • Engineering documentation including schematics, reports, and project technical drawings

  • Use of Product Lifecycle Management tools in a Technical Approver capacity

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering

  • A minimum of 6 years applying electrical design skills across a broad range of engineering systems

  • Proven leadership in an engineering supervisory or team management role

  • Eligibility to work with U.S. export-controlled data and systems

Preferred Attributes:

  • Master’s degree in a related engineering field

  • Hands-on experience in aerospace or other regulated industries

  • Strong interpersonal capabilities for leading matrixed teams and coordinating cross-functional initiatives

  • Proficiency with technical platforms and standards including:

    • DOORS (Requirements Management)

    • Cadence and OrCAD

    • LTSPICE and PSPICE Simulation Tools

    • Siemens Teamcenter PLM

    • Industry Standards: IPC-620, IPC-630, J-STD-001, NFPA-79
