She Recruits is proud to partner with a leading power systems engineering firm in search of a Power Systems & Field Engineering Specialist to join their innovative and growing team in Greenville, South Carolina. As a Power Systems & Field Engineering Specialist, you'll work across the full project lifecycle—from design and modeling to field commissioning and troubleshooting. This is a dynamic, hands-on role requiring deep electrical engineering knowledge and the ability to adapt quickly in both office and field environments.
Develop and analyze power distribution systems, including substations, transformers, relays, breakers, and switchgear
Perform system modeling and simulations to optimize performance and ensure regulatory compliance
Draft and review technical drawings, design specs, and project documentation
Conduct system studies such as load flow, short circuit, arc flash, and relay coordination
Collaborate with project engineers, field technicians, and clients to deliver tailored solutions
Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in power systems engineering; field testing experience strongly preferred
Technical Skills:
Proficient in MATLAB, ETAP, or similar modeling software
Solid foundation in electrical theory, power electronics, and protection systems
Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis capabilities
Soft Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and on multidisciplinary teams
Certifications:
PE license required (or in progress)
Certifications in Power System Protection or related areas are a plus
Travel: Willingness to travel up to 50% for field service as needed
Perform on-site testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment
Calibrate instruments and maintain testing tools to ensure accuracy and compliance
Identify system issues in the field and recommend corrective actions
Maintain accurate documentation and prepare detailed reports for stakeholders
Ensure all field activities meet safety standards and applicable regulations
