Field Technician – Power Systems (NETA Tech I-IV)Location: Hanford, CAJob Type: Full-TimeTravel: Up to 70%Compensation: $25–$65/hour (based on experience and certification level) + overtimeRelocation Assistance: Available for highly qualified candidates
Overview:Join a leading provider of electrical power services and testing across North America. As a Field Technician, you’ll play a vital role in testing, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex electrical systems to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect, test, troubleshoot, and maintain power transmission and distribution equipment up to 500kV
Test and service low-, medium-, and high-voltage switchgear, breakers, relays, transformers, and related systems
Perform power factor testing, SF6 gas testing, infrared scanning, oil testing, and start-ups
Operate and maintain test equipment (e.g., Doble, Megger, Omicron)
Perform low and medium voltage cable testing and control scheme verification
Create accurate test reports and present findings to customers and internal teams
Follow all electrical safety protocols including LOTO, arc flash analysis, and PPE compliance
Participate in rotating on-call duty and respond promptly to emergencies
Position Requirements (by Level):
Tech I
High School diploma or GED
Minimum 1 year of related experience
Basic electrical theory knowledge and a safety-first mindset
Military training (Army Prime Power, Navy Nuke, etc.) preferred
Tech II
2+ years of field experience
NETA Level II certification required
Familiarity with MCCs, relay testing, infrared, and high-voltage systems
Tech III
5+ years of experience
NETA Level III certification required
Capable of leading projects and mentoring junior techs
Authorized for electrical switching
Tech IV
5+ years of experience with an associate degree or 10+ years total experience
NETA Level IV certification required
Can supervise large projects and crews
Skilled in reporting, investigations, and independent decision-making
Compensation & Benefits:
Pay: $25–$65/hr depending on experience and certification
Overtime: Time and a half (after 8 hours), double time (after 10 hours, weekends)
Per Diem: $50–$75/day for meals and incidentals (lodging provided)
Equipment: Company vehicle, fuel card, laptop, phone reimbursement ($75/month)
Annual Allowances: $150 boot reimbursement, $750 clothing allowance

Physical Requirements:
Lift 50+ lbs regularly
Work in confined spaces, climb ladders, and stand for long periods
