Founding Software Engineer – Early-Stage Fintech Startup
Location: San Francisco, CA – Onsite

About the Role:
Join a small, early-stage team on a mission to modernize consumer financial experiences. As a founding engineer, you’ll own and build core backend systems, including APIs, data pipelines, and model-serving infrastructure for an LLM-driven consumer app. You’ll collaborate closely with the founding team to move ideas from prototypes to production and help define the company’s technical culture.
Key Responsibilities:

Architect, build, and optimize backend systems powering the product

Design and deploy scalable APIs and complex data pipelines

Train, evaluate, and fine-tune machine learning models on financial and behavioral datasets

Collaborate with product and design to prototype and ship features rapidly

Influence technical architecture and engineering practices
Ideal Candidate:

2–5 years software engineering experience, strong backend skills (Python or Rust preferred)

Experience building complex data pipelines
-
Comfortable with modern machine learning workflows and deploying ML systems into production

Scrappy, resourceful, and thrives in ambiguity

Excited about consumer fintech and AI-driven experiences

In-person in San Francisco
