We seek a senior embedded software engineer skilled in the full lifecycle development of firmware for real-time systems. Our Boston client is a globally recognized research laboratory. You will join a highly skilled team of engineers and scientists developing groundbreaking solutions in the areas of machine learning, sensors, and signal processing. You will: Design and maintain firmware for real-time systems … Assess and adopt new technologies … Mentor peers … Test, debug, and integrate complex systems … Collaborate on requirements, architecture, and deliverables. Optimizing with hardware engineers.

 

Required:

  • 7+ years embedded firmware/software development.
  • Low-level drivers and hardware integration for interfaces.
  • RTOS i.e., FreeRTOS, ZephyrRTOS, Micrium on MCUs.
  • RISC architectures, including RISC-V and ARM uCs and bus architectures.
  • Software-hardware integration, silicon and board bring-up and validation.
  • Rust, C++, C, and Python.
  • Cargo. CMake.
  • Git. CI/CD.

 

Desirable:

  • PhD/MS
  • Linux design patterns.
  • Heterogenous (FPGA + MCU) systems.
  • Digital design (RTL/Verilog).
  • Signal processing chains.
  • Hardware accelerators.
  • AI/ML edge inference frameworks.
  • DSP and sampling theory.
  • Reading schematics.
  • PCB design.

 

Location: Boston, MA. Flexible schedule. Hybrid – onsite two to three days. Generous relocation package.

 

Compensation: The base salary is open (~$180,000). Lucrative bonus. RSUs. Comprehensive benefits.
