Maderra is currently seeking a qualified individual for the position of Mechanical Engineer in St. John's, NL.

Located in St. John's, NL, Maderra provides project management, project services, engineering, technical and personnel services to the Energy, Resource, and Commercial sectors. Responsibilities:

• Prepare technical specifications and engineering reports; 
• Work as part of an Owner’s engineering technical team to review engineering work for large-scalemajor projects within front-end and detailed engineering design phases; 
• Review of consultant calculations, assumptions, and produced engineering design to ensure proper industry and standards, norms, and practices; 
• Mechanical analysis, design, and tender preparation; 
• Prepare documentation for project Requests for Proposals (“RFP”); 
• Conduct technical review and recommendation of bids related to RFPs;
• Technical review of all package deliverables; 
• Participate in design reviews, constructability workshops, risk reviews, and project meetings; 
• Focus on providing as-builds and operations manuals and proper turnover to operations; 
• Respond to technical and/or site queries, including troubleshooting and investigations, as required; 
• Input into and/or preparation of project estimates and schedules; 
• Provide recommendations for the application of new technologies and products; 
• Provide quality assurance and control activities as required to properly ensure quality oversight from a supply and construction perspective; 
• Provide on-site technical and construction support of both internal and contractor personnel; 
• Proactively support a safety culture where "Nobody Gets Hurt.” 

• Bachelor of Engineering Degree (Mechanical) from a recognized university. 
• Eligible for membership in the Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador Association. 
• Minimum of 10 years experience, with several years in project execution. 
• Experience with combustion turbines would be considered an asset. 
• Experience with an electric utility would be considered an asset.
