About the Role
Reports directly to the plant manager and is responsible for 8 direct reports.
As the Manager of Manufacturing Engineering, you will play a key leadership role in our manufacturing operations, overseeing process development, product enhancement, machine optimization, labor standards, and cost reduction initiatives. You will be part of the decision-making team for this company’s Orangeburg, SC location. Your mission will be to drive continuous improvement, enhance machine utilization, and implement cost-effective solutions that maximize productivity.
Key Responsibilities
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader with deep expertise in manufacturing engineering and a proven ability to drive process improvements. You should have:✔ 10+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, with at least 5-10 years in management.✔ A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent experience in medium/heavy manufacturing).✔ Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to engage with staff at all levels.✔ Experience in cable manufacturing is a plus / extrusion experience is a must!! ✔ A systems-oriented mindset and a data-driven approach to decision-making.✔ Proficiency in PC-based tools for analysis, reporting, and communication.✔ Knowledge of metrology, thermoplastics, thermosets, and process improvement methodologies.✔ A strong understanding of manufacturing safety, environmental regulations, and quality systems.✔ A competitive, goal-oriented mindset with a drive for continuous improvement.
