Role Overview: Commercial Superintendent

As a Commercial Construction Superintendent, you will oversee ground-up projects primarily across South Carolina, with values starting at $8 million and above. Ideal candidates will have experience in sectors such as K-12, higher education, office, hospitality, and general commercial construction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage on-site construction activities and supervise all field/subcontractor personnel

• Ensure on-time, within-budget completion of projects while upholding high-quality standards

• Lead field operations and coordinate all trades

• Maintain daily site operations including scheduling, quality control, and site safety

• Develop and manage short-interval schedules and monitor progress

• Order materials and coordinate required inspections

• Maintain site documentation: daily reports, safety reports, punch lists, etc.

• Conduct weekly job site meetings with trade contractors

• Maintain job site cleanliness and organization

• Promote and enforce safety protocols and regulatory compliance

• Provide feedback on submittals, subcontractor scopes, budgets, and job cost reports

• Assist with pre-construction meetings, site logistics planning, and project staging

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and staff

Candidate Profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial ground-up construction

• Proven track record managing projects of $8 million or more

• Strong background in scheduling, field supervision, safety, and quality control

• Experience leading large or multi-phase construction projects

• Hands-on leadership style with excellent communication and organizational skills

• Willingness to travel as required (primarily within South Carolina)

• OSHA and CPR Certifications are a plus
