Job Title: Senior Quality Electro-Mechanical Technician

Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Electro-Mechanical Technician to support the assembly, repair, testing, and continuous improvement of our electronic and mechanical systems. This role is critical to ensuring product reliability, quality, and manufacturability across both internal operations and external contract manufacturing partners.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hands-on electro-mechanical assembly and testing, a keen eye for quality, and the ability to contribute to process improvements and training efforts across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform mechanical assembly, electrical repair, modifications, and upgrades on products and sub-assemblies.

  • Build and evaluate engineering prototypes, identifying and documenting issues with design or documentation.

  • Develop test fixtures and support component testing to ensure quality and reliability.

  • Inspect sub-assemblies for proper wiring, secure PCB mounting, hardware installation, and overall build quality.

  • Document test results and suggest design or process improvements for manufacturability and quality.

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Quality teams to resolve technical issues.

  • Train and guide junior assemblers and incoming inspection teams on best practices and product standards.

  • Review and update assembly drawings, provide feedback on design for internal builds and contract manufacturing.

  • Manage material flow through assembly to maintain accurate inventory and production schedules.

  • Support qualification of new components and sub-assemblies for use in production.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Associate degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, OR

  • 6+ years of hands-on technician experience in a manufacturing environment.

Experience:

  • Minimum 8 years of mechanical/electrical assembly experience in a production or R&D setting.

  • Proficient in building and testing electronic/mechanical components and systems.

  • Skilled in creating custom test fixtures and setups for component verification.

  • Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); able to use internal databases effectively.

  • Strong understanding of BOMs, assembly drawings, Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), and quality standards.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proven problem-solving ability in production and prototype environments.

  • Comfortable interfacing with cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to take initiative on quality and process improvement initiatives.

  • Experience working with contract manufacturers is a plus.
