Position: Process Engineer
Location: Bay City, TX
Salary Range: $125,000 to $150,000
Bonus: 15% of Base Salary
Paid Relocation: 33% of Base Salary + Co. Paid Closing Cost on Home purchase

SUMMARY:
The Process Engineer provides support for the Production Site in Bay City, Texas, Manufacturing Operation comprising the Formalin, MAL, MMA Reaction, and Purification plants, as well as Utilities. This role is responsible for all aspects of process engineering for the safe and efficient operation of process equipment. This role will additionally lead, develop, and/or contribute to process improvements aligning closely with related functions within the organization.
Education:
· Bachelor’s or more advanced degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
Experience:
· A minimum of 3 years of experience within the Chemical or Process Industry, preferably in a chemical manufacturing environment.
· Strong technical skills with ability to work collaboratively with other departments and international teams.
· Thorough knowledge of reactors, distillation, clarifiers, boilers and thermal oxidizers.
· Must demonstrate a working knowledge of all applicable engineering principles and standards and their application.
· Knowledge of operating processes, equipment, and materials, as well as critical analysis skills are needed to effectively evaluate manufacturing performance and develop improvements.
· Proficient with MS Office.
· Familiar with and ability to learn SAP, process simulation tools and other process engineering applications such as Aspen and related applications.
· Continuous improvement mindset with the ability and desire to utilize digitalization and new process methods.
· Ability to read, understand, and modify schematics and other manufacturing process documentation including P&IDs.
· Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present detailed information across all levels of the organization.
· Must be able to organize and have the ability to handle multiple projects and tasks to meet targeted completion deadlines.
· Ability to work without guidance or supervision.
· This position will follow a standard weekly schedule, however availability for weekend and holiday coverage during shut downs and critical use periods may be required.
· Physical ability to work around and on industrial equipment, including frequent climbing of stairs and ladders and ability to lift up to 25 pounds
· Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas (respirator, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, steel toed shoes, and hearing protection)
KEY DUTIES:
· Provide technical assistance and procedural development for processes and equipment.
· Apply technical knowledge of reactors, distillation, clarifiers, boilers and thermal oxidizers to improve production efficiency and safety.
· Understand, review and maintain key operating design documents including Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs).
· Provide support for site safety, environmental, quality and cost goals.
· Collaborate and provide technical support to site Operations, Maintenance and Engineering to identify, develop and implement process optimization measures.
· Using technical knowledge, lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities for malfunctions and deviations in Operations, QA, and Engineering processes including development of mitigation measures. Develop and perform data analyses and evaluations.
· Track and trend key performance indicators (KPIs), production data, rates, shift logs and other pertinent information to drive continuous improvement and minimize downtime.
· Prepare reports as needed summarizing the status of ongoing projects.
· Actively participate in Process Safety Management work practices such as Management of Change (MOC) and Process Hazard Analysis (PHA).
· Responsible for engineering and procurement specifications for equipment.
· Promote a positive culture by close collaboration with Operations, Engineering and Maintenance to resolve issues.
· Develop, implement and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs).
· Develop and deploy digital operation tools and methods.
· Ensure / support that adequate process related equipment maintenance systems and programs are in place and that such programs are operated in a safe and efficient manner meeting or exceeding all regulatory requirements.
