Job Opportunity: Staff Pathologist – Maui, Hawaii
Our client is seeking a full-time staff pathologist to join the team at a partner hospital on the beautiful island of Maui, Hawaii. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic healthcare setting while enjoying the scenic and vibrant culture of the island.
Position Overview: The ideal candidate will be board certified in Anatomic Pathology (AP) and Clinical Pathology (CP) with strong expertise in surgical pathology, cytopathology, and clinical laboratory operations. Experience as a Medical Director of a lab section is also highly valued. A minimum of 3-5 years of post-residency experience is preferred. The pathologist will work closely with hospital physicians, administration, and laboratory staff, so excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills are essential.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Subspecialty fellowship training is a plus and may receive special consideration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform frozen section analysis and sign out surgical pathology, cytopathology (non-GYN), and peripheral smears.
- Conduct autopsies and assist in the interpretation of complex cases.
- Collaborate with clinical laboratory staff to ensure high-quality laboratory services and adherence to best practices in laboratory medicine.
- Contribute to hospital and laboratory quality improvement and accreditation initiatives.
- Provide expert consultations to clinicians on pathology-related matters.
