Job Title: Pediatric Pathologist
Location: Long Island, NY
Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Pediatric Pathologist to join our dynamic team on Long Island. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pediatric pathology, providing diagnostic expertise and contributing to our mission of delivering high-quality care to children. This role involves collaboration with clinicians, researchers, and other specialists in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform histopathological examinations and provide accurate diagnoses for pediatric specimens.
- Collaborate with pediatricians, oncologists, and other healthcare professionals to discuss cases and provide insights on patient management.
- Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and case conferences.
- Conduct autopsies and provide consultations on pediatric cases as needed.
- Engage in quality assurance activities to ensure the highest standards of diagnostic accuracy.
- Stay current with advances in pediatric pathology and contribute to research initiatives as needed.
- Mentor and train pathology residents and fellows in pediatric pathology techniques and diagnoses.
- Participate in departmental meetings, continuing education, and professional development activities.
Qualifications:
- MD or DO degree with board certification in Anatomic Pathology and subspecialty board certification in Pediatric Pathology.
- Active New York State medical license or eligibility for licensure.
- A strong foundation in pediatric medicine and pathology, including experience with a wide range of pediatric diseases.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and collaborate effectively with medical teams.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to patient care and continuous learning.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a pediatric hospital setting.
- Research experience in pediatric diseases or pathology.
- Proficiency in molecular pathology techniques.
