Job Title: General Surgical Pathologist

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled General Surgical Pathologist to join our dynamic pathology team in Long Island. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing accurate and timely diagnoses through the examination of surgical specimens, contributing to high-quality patient care and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform histopathological examinations of surgical specimens, including biopsies and resection specimens.
• Prepare and review histological slides, providing detailed diagnoses based on clinical and laboratory data.
• Collaborate with surgeons, oncologists, and other healthcare professionals to discuss findings and guide treatment decisions.
• Participate in multidisciplinary tumor board meetings and provide expert opinions on complex cases.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of advancements in pathology and related fields.
• Contribute to quality assurance initiatives, including peer review and continuing education activities.
• Engage in educational activities, mentoring residents and medical students as needed.
• Participate in research projects and scholarly activities to advance the field of pathology.

Qualifications:

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of a residency in Anatomic Pathology, with additional fellowship training in Surgical Pathology preferred.
• Board certification in Anatomic Pathology.
• Current New York State medical license (or eligibility to obtain).
• Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to teamwork and collaboration within a multidisciplinary healthcare setting.
