Privately held, discount grocery retailer with strong roots in the Southeast.  Known for its value-driven culture, loyal customer base, and operational excellence.  The company operates 35+ stores.  Built on entrepreneurial buying strategies and efficient merchandising, this retailer turns opportunity buys, closeouts, and overstocks into strong everyday savings for customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Director of Store Operations will oversee all aspects of retail execution, profitability, and operational consistency across a multi-store network.  Reporting directly to the President, this leader will manage 4 District Managers and be responsible for driving sales growth, compliance, and team development throughout the region. 

Lead and develop District Managers to achieve company goals for sales, profit, and operational standards.

Oversee daily store operations and ensure consistency across all locations.

Manage KPIs including sales growth, shrink control, inventory turns, and labor efficiency.

Partner with HR on staffing, training, and enforcement of company policies.

Ensure consistent merchandising, promotional, and marketing execution.

Conduct operational audits and ensure compliance and safety standards are maintained.

Collaborate with corporate leadership on new store openings and remodeling projects.

Maintain strong field presence with approximately 50% travel.

Build and sustain a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.

5+ years of multi-unit retail grocery leadership. 

Proven retail operations leader to help drive the next stage of growth and performance excellence.

Proven success leading District and Regional Managers.

Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.

Hands-on leader with focus on people development and operational discipline.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

Base Salary: $115–$120K + Up to 30% Performance Bonus, 401(k) Plan with company match, Medical, Dental & Vision Plans, Life & AD&D Insurance, STD, LTD, Vacation, Holidays, Personal & Sick Time, Company Car, Relocation Assistance.
