Associate Attorney – Business Litigation

Location: Austin, TX

Our client, a prominent AmLaw 200 firm, is seeking a highly-qualified and motivated Associate Attorney to join their Business Litigation Practice Group in Austin. This role will work closely with the firm's Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department, focusing on complex business litigation and arbitration cases in a variety of industries.

 

Candidate Profile:

  • JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.
  • Active Bar Admission in Texas.
  • 4–6 years of substantive experience in complex business litigation, including partnership and shareholder disputes, misappropriation of trade secrets, trademark infringement, breach of non-competition and non-solicitation agreements, and commercial contracts.
  • Demonstrated experience in real estate litigation, including developer disputes, broker defense, lender litigation, and partnership disputes.
  • Comfortable in a trial setting.
  • Extensive experience with hearings and depositions.
  • Prior AmLaw 200 law firm experience, with excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with the Texas courts and rules is essential to this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in complex business litigation and arbitration cases, including disputes involving real estate, trademarks and copyrights, securities, insurance, franchisor/franchisee relationships, and corporate and partnership issues.
  • Handle partnership and shareholder disputes, trade secret misappropriation, trademark infringement, and breach of non-compete/non-solicitation agreements.
  • Manage real estate litigation matters, including developer disputes, broker defense, real estate lender litigation, and real estate partnership disputes.
  • Conduct hearings and depositions, demonstrating confidence and competence in a trial setting with reasonable oversight.
  • Draft complex legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and briefs.
  • Navigate the demands and expectations of a fast-paced AmLaw 200 law firm environment.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients, providing strategic legal counsel and case management.
