Position Summary: The Director of Finance & HR plays a critical role in overseeing comprehensive finance and human resources functions at our organization. This pivotal position requires a candidate with robust financial expertise, meticulous attention to detail, and exceptional interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Finance:

  • Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable functions to ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.
  • Conduct regular reconciliations of accounts to maintain financial data accuracy.
  • Utilize advanced understanding of debits and credits for handling complex journal entries.
  • Maintain and update depreciation schedules for fixed assets.
  • Oversee debt management and maintain amortization schedules.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
  • Develop cash management strategies to optimize operational liquidity.
  • Make decisions on the best use of capital for strategic and profitable growth.
  • Assist CEO and other directors in developing long-range forecasts and annual budgets.
  • Handle sales tax reporting and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Create a strong balance sheet to reflect financial health and stability.

Human Resources:

  • Facilitate seamless onboarding and termination processes for employees, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
  • Prepare semi-monthly payroll accurately and on time.
  • Maintain and update the employee handbook and company policies as necessary.
  • Manage deposits and reporting for IRA (Individual Retirement Accounts).
  • Coordinate annual employee performance reviews and provide support to managers during the review process.
  • Resolve employee relations issues effectively and confidentially, acting as a problem solver.
  • Solicit bids for annual employee benefits and assist in the implementation and administration of benefits programs.
  • Recognize and celebrate employee milestones, anniversaries, and achievements through various recognition programs such as Bravo Awards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a combined HR and finance role, preferably in a small to medium-sized company environment.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, including debits/credits, financial reporting, and budgeting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).
  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is advantageous.
