Location

This is an on-site position in Los Angeles, CA. Labor and employment associates are expected to be in the office five days per week, giving you close collaboration with partners and full integration into the team and firm culture.

Note

To be considered, you must have 4+ years of labor and employment experience, including wage and hour class action work, be admitted to the California Bar, and have strong academic credentials (3.0+ GPA). A law school transcript and writing sample are required for interview.

Job Description

  • Handle a broad range of employment litigation matters for employer clients, with a heavy focus on wage and hour class and representative actions.
  • Manage single-plaintiff discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and related employment disputes.
  • Draft and argue motions, including dispositive motions, discovery motions, and class certification briefs.
  • Take and defend depositions of plaintiffs, class representatives, supervisors, HR professionals, and experts.
  • Assist with all phases of case management, from initial assessment and strategy through discovery, mediation, and trial preparation.
  • Provide day-to-day employment law advice and counseling on issues such as wage and hour compliance, accommodations, leave laws, discipline and terminations, investigations, and policy updates.
  • Work closely with partners and clients to develop practical, business-focused solutions and risk management strategies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the firm on overlapping issues, including traditional labor, investigations, and related litigation.

Qualifications

  • JD from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials (3.0+ GPA).
  • Admission to the California Bar in good standing.
  • 4+ years of labor and employment experience at a reputable law firm.
  • Significant wage and hour class action litigation experience on behalf of employers.
  • Strong background in employment litigation, including single-plaintiff matters.
  • Demonstrated experience providing employment law advice and counseling to employer clients.
  • Traditional labor law experience is a plus but not required.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills, with careful attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal communication skills, professionalism, and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
