Applications Engineer (1707189)  $100k – $130k per year

Full Time; Direct Hire

 

PRIMARY DUTIES

Responsible for soliciting and securing purchase orders for high-tech automation equipment and related projects. Plan, organize, implement, and analyze all project-related activities to achieve both project-specific and organizational goals. Foster a culture of innovation, creativity, continuous improvement, and individual achievement.

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

• Solicit and respond to requests for quotations from new and existing customers.

• Meet with customers, gather and analyze RFQ information, develop concepts, generate pricing worksheets, and prepare formal proposals.

• Follow up with customers to secure project orders.

• Initiate project kick-off meetings and interpret specifications and proposals.

• Provide guidance and commercial support to project teams throughout the project lifecycle.

• Support project modifications affecting scope, pricing, or delivery.

• Evaluate and analyze new technologies, products, and industry trends.

• Assist in the development of promotional and collateral materials.

• Support various engineering and marketing functions within the Applications Group.

• Travel as needed to support customer development and new business opportunities.

• Participate in trade shows and advertising campaigns as required.

• Perform additional duties to support team members, improve support systems, and meet customer and organizational goals.

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR QUALIFICATION

• B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university or equivalent experience.

• Strong communication skills with extensive experience in supplier and customer interactions.

• Proven time and resource management skills, including project and team leadership.

• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and discipline.

• Results-oriented and committed to meeting schedules and budgets.

• Willingness to travel nationally and internationally.

• Valid driver’s license.

 

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE

• Proficient in drafting, reading, and creating technical drawings and sketches.

• Experience with CAD software including SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Ability to perform physical tasks related to the position, including climbing on and around machinery.

• Work involves desk activities and walking throughout the facility.

• Exposure to noise, dust, and temperature variations in customer facilities.

 

TRAINING PROGRAM

• Participation in off-site seminars and formal training as appropriate.

• Daily on-site training.

 

COMMUNICATION

Communicates effectively with project team members, customers, and suppliers.
