Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented professional to lead and enhance our supply chain and logistics operations. The successful candidate will be pivotal in managing procurement, inventory, logistics, and warehouse functions, ensuring efficient importation of goods from Europe to the United States and Canada. This role involves leading a dedicated team to achieve seamless supply chain execution, aligning stock levels and transportation activities with market demands and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the end-to-end procurement and inbound logistics for goods sourced from Europe to North America.
  • Manage warehouse operations, including receiving, picking, packing, and shipping, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Develop and implement inventory optimization strategies to balance service levels with working capital objectives.
  • Enhance transportation cost efficiency through carrier management and contract negotiation.
  • Coordinate with European factories to align production and shipping with North American demand.
  • Lead demand planning and forecasting to synchronize supply with market needs.
  • Ensure compliance with import/export regulations and corporate quality standards.
  • Analyze key supply chain metrics to drive continuous improvement and performance enhancement.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic insights and reports on supply chain performance to executive leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; master’s degree or MBA would be a plus.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in supply chain, including procurement, inventory management, warehouse operations, and international logistics.
  • Proven experience in managing warehouse teams and optimizing day-to-day functions.
  • Expertise in inventory optimization, transportation cost control, and warehouse efficiency.
  • Comprehensive understanding of import/export compliance and customs regulations.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and warehouse management software, with preference for SAP or Oracle.
  • Fluency in English; additional proficiency in European languages such as German, French, or Italian is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required. Typical travel is to Canada 25% to 35%.
