POSITION SUMMARY: The Manufacturing Engineer Project Manager will develop, implement, and maintain safe, optimal, and cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods according to product specifications and quality standards. This role will also recommend and implement improvements to production processes, methods, and controls.

- DETAILS OF THIS CAREER OPPORTUNITY
- Supports research, design, and the development of safe manufacturing processes, including production flow, assembly methods, and production equipment.
- Consult with stakeholders to determine functional and spatial requirements of new structures or renovations and prepare information regarding design, specifications, materials, equipment, estimated costs, and construction time.
- Prepares and maintains detailed layouts of the facility's property, buildings, and equipment.
- Supports and may lead the manufacturing launch of new/revised products, including establishing goals, training team members, and evaluating results.
- Designs, develops, tests, and/or sources and cost-justifies various tools, machinery, equipment, and refrigerated insulation processes for safely manufacturing truck bodies and components.
- Prepares capital projects for new equipment and processes.
- Safely launches machines, processes, methods, and/or tooling technologies with >99% effectiveness.
- Documents lessons learned and communicated among the Manufacturing Engineering discipline.
- Provides technical process expertise for plant and supplier quality issues.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

MUST HAVE:
- Experience managing manufacturing startup projects, including scope development, business case analysis, execution, and closeout.
- Proven track record of successfully completing manufacturing projects on schedule and within budget.
- Ability to think strategically and plan projects over a 6–12-month horizon.
- Experience with existing manufacturing technologies, including, but not limited to, welding, joining, metalworking, and manual assembly; certification in a field is a plus.
- 5+ years of professional experience in a manufacturing environment, 4+ years of work experience in a comparable industry.
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering is desired.
- Experience with factory automation, maintenance, and integrating engineering designs into production - highly desirable.
- Practical Lean principles experience with proven success using the tools.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, AutoCAD, Minitab.
- Proven ability to facilitate change and knowledge of lean tools and techniques.
- Strong leadership experience and strong team player.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
- Quality orientation and attention to detail.
- Problem analysis and problem resolution; Green Belt certification, Black Belt a plus.
