Role: Tool Technician
Job Overview:
This position is responsible for daily activities related to productivity and utilization of all aspects of the shop. This position is pivotal towards ensuring the timely and accurate mobilization of tools and assets while maintaining and testing equipment to minimize lost time and costs. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, attention to detail, and effective organization. This individual should have a passion for our business, and a desire to improve the experience of our customer base. This position will report to the Operations Manager.
Essential Functions:
Execution of tasks for effective utilization of tools and assets. Ability to work in a team and ensure work is being completed fully and in a timely manner, training as necessary.
Effective utilization of current standards for tracking tools and assets, understanding of WI’s and SOP’s around the shop operations.
Maintain facility organization and cleanliness of facility and grounds as needed.
Tool Management
Perform activities associated with work order fulfillment, mobilization and demobilization.
Work with various departments to identify tooling needs and notify of potential issues.
Constant and accurate use of systems for tool tracking, inventory, ordering, usage, storage, and certification (in-house and third party) to maximize efficiency and longevity of tooling.
Effective use of shop assets to ensure tools are maintained and available for field use.
Warehouse Management
Maintain warehouse organization to optimize effectiveness, visibility, and minimize lost time.
Maintain cleanliness throughout the warehouse for efficiency and visual representation of Pro Services.
Daily Physical Demands:
Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
Must be physically able to climb ladders, stairs, ramps, and scaffolds and bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, squat, and move as needed to accomplish necessary tasks.
Use fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to traverse wet, slippery, unsteady, irregular, narrow, vibrating or moving surfaces.
Site specific physical and safety requirements may apply.
Ability to wear job specific PPE required.
Ability to perform tasks in inclement weather when needed.
Qualifications:
Experience with tools preferred, but not required.
HS/GED preferred with some work experience inside a team function.
Knowledge of tooling and equipment maintenance practices preferred.
Forklift experience preferred, must be able to obtain forklift certification upon hire.
Ability to take direction and accomplish tasks when assigned.
Must be detail-oriented and have organizational and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining timeliness and accuracy.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
Proficiency with phone apps, computers, Microsoft Excel and Google Suite (G Suite).
