Job DescriptionROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES ELECTRICAL MAINTENANCE: PERFORM ROUTINEINSPECTIONS AND MAINTENANCE ON ELECTRICALSYSTEMS, MACHINERY, AND EQUIPMENT TO ENSUREOPTIMAL FUNCTIONALITY. TROUBLESHOOTING: DIAGNOSE AND REPAIRELECTRICAL ISSUES PROMPTLY TO MINIMIZE DOWNTIMEAND MAINTAIN PRODUCTION EFFICIENCY. INSTALLATION: INSTALL, UPGRADE, AND MODIFYELECTRICAL SYSTEMS, COMPONENTS, AND EQUIPMENTIN ACCORDANCE WITH INDUSTRY STANDARDS ANDREGULATIONS. SAFETY COMPLIANCE: ENSURE COMPLIANCE WITHELECTRICAL CODES, SAFETY REGULATIONS, ANDCOMPANY POLICIES TO MAINTAIN A SAFE WORKINGENVIRONMENT. COLLABORATION: WORK CLOSELY WITH OTHERMAINTENANCE AND PRODUCTION TEAMS TOCOORDINATE ELECTRICAL MAINTENANCE ACTIVITIES ANDADDRESS ANY ELECTRICAL-RELATED CONCERNS. DOCUMENTATION: MAINTAIN ACCURATE RECORDS OFELECTRICAL REPAIRS, INSTALLATIONS, ANDINSPECTIONS. UPDATE EQUIPMENT MANUALS ANDELECTRICAL DRAWINGS AS NEEDED. EMERGENCY RESPONSE: RESPOND TO ELECTRICALEMERGENCIES AND BREAKDOWNS PROMPTLY,PROVIDING QUICK AND EFFECTIVE SOLUTIONS TOMINIMIZE PRODUCTION DISRUPTIONS. TRAINING AND GUIDANCE: PROVIDE GUIDANCE TOJUNIOR TECHNICIANS AND APPRENTICES, SHARINGKNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE TO ENHANCE THEOVERALL SKILL LEVEL OF THE TEAM. CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT: IDENTIFYOPPORTUNITIES FOR PROCESS AND EFFICIENCYIMPROVEMENTS IN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS,SUGGESTING AND IMPLEMENTING UPGRADES ASNECESSARY. COLLABORATION WITH MANAGEMENT: COMMUNICATEREGULARLY WITH MANAGEMENT TO REPORT ON THESTATUS OF ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS, UPCOMINGMAINTENANCE REQUIREMENTS, AND ANY POTENTIALRISKS OR IMPROVEMENTS. EQUIPMENT TESTING: CONDUCT REGULAR TESTINGAND INSPECTIONS OF ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT TOENSURE RELIABILITY AND COMPLIANCE WITH QUALITYSTANDARDS.QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or equivalent Completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship program Current Journeyman Electrician license Relevant work experience as an electrician particularly in anindustrial food plant settingPREFERRED SKILLS A strong understanding of electrical codes and regulations Ability to create and maintain accurate records, including
electrical drawings and maintenance logs Proficiency in reading blueprints, troubleshooting electricalsystems, and using various tools and equipment associated withindustrial electrical work. Knowledge of Instrumentation and control systems, sensors,actuators, and PLCs.Additional Notes (Internal)• Industrial Electrician Certification• Class “B” Refrigeration license would be an asset• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude• Strong working knowledge of Siemens and Allen BradleyPLC’s and frequency drives VFDs 525s,70s,and PF 40s CPs 500s and 5000s STUDIO 5000• Experience in a food manufacturing facility would be an assetalong with knowledge of food safety and HACCP• Team player• Prior involvement with Continuous Improvement projects• Self-motivated and able to take initiative• Computer literacy• Flexibility to undertake other work that may be assigned fromtime to time which may be outside the area of normal duties• Proactively troubleshoot and correct problems with controlsystems, scaling systems or any electric or electronic systemson the production equipment• Conduct routine scheduled maintenance in accordance withpreventative maintenance program• Carry out Installation and modification work - mechanical,electrical and refrigeration• Hazardous material handling• Be familiar with and take a lead role in emergency situations• Be observant and take initiative when a fault is detected• Report daily activities• Maintain good housekeeping practices in your work area andin the maintenance shop• Carry out repairs on equipment and buildings not associatedwith the production lines. (ie. cold store equipment, yard lighting,forklifts, trucks, office fittings and facilities, building fabric, etc...)• Adhere to safety and quality standards• Other duties as assigned
