Job Overview:

This position is responsible for building a strong reputation for Pro Services through high performance and effective execution of industrial maintenance related functions at our customer sites. The industrial reliability technician is responsible for testing and troubleshooting machines and equipment for proper functioning during production and being able to respond quickly when issues arise. They will act as the technical representative for Pro Services at the customer site and will be required to interact with both customer maintenance staff and maintenance leadership. This position requires a strong focus on quality and safety. The successful candidate will be required to follow all safety and company policies and actively participate in creating and maintaining a safe work environment while improving operations. The position requires the ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to a changing work schedule. This individual should have a passion for our business, and a desire to improve the maintenance experience of our customer base. This position will report to either a Pro Services Account Manager or Program Manager and could have an additional reporting relationship with customer site maintenance leadership.

Essential Functions:

  • Follow all safety and company policies and actively participate in creating a safe work environment for self and others.
  • Perform and record regular preventative (routine) maintenance, startups, and installation of parts per machine manuals.
  • Perform and record non-routine (break/fix) maintenance. Troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining all types and brands of customer equipment at an expert level. Includes dismantling machines to gain access for troubleshooting and repair activities.
  • Visually inspect and listen to machines and equipment to diagnose and locate the cause of malfunctions.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics to repair mechanical/electrical components including shafts, bearings, gear boxes, pumps, motors, drives and 3 phase power.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical and fluid power systems at an expert level.
  • Build relationships and maintain regular communications with key maintenance leadership to help ensure smooth operational workflow and maximum output are achieved on a day-to-day basis.
  • Mentor and coach less experienced personnel as appropriate.

Daily Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Must be physically able to climb ladders, stairs, ramps, and scaffolds and bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
  • Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, squat, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
  • Use fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
  • Must be able to visually inspect machines.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.
  • Must be able to traverse wet, slippery, unsteady, irregular, narrow, vibrating or moving surfaces.
  • Site specific physical and safety requirements may apply.
  • Ability to wear job specific PPE required.

Qualifications:

  • HS/GED and 8+ years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing setting is required.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • At least one of the following criteria is required:
  • Expert – Master or Supervisor level Electrician, Controls Engineer, PLC programming experience with CPU’s and HMI’s.
  • Journeyman, equivalent, or higher in Machine Repair, Electrical or Instrumentation and Controls.
  • 4+ years of Production Maintenance or (2 years and a graduate from the Pro U program) with demonstrated high levels of understanding in at least 3 areas of Maintenance. (Mechanical, Electrical, Fluid Power, General Knowledge, Instrumentation & Controls.)
  • 4+ years of Production Maintenance on a Corrugator Machine with confirmed understanding of controls systems, drive systems, all Corrugator supporting systems and full wet and dry end troubleshooting, repair, and rebuilding capabilities.
  • 4+ years of Electro-Mechanical System Maintenance & Troubleshooting Experience. 4+ years experienced in industrial/manufacturing environments repairing Mechanical/electrical components including shafts, bearings, gear boxes, pumps, motors, drives, 3 phase power. Strong background in conveyor systems, Hydraulic and pneumatic systems, Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics. Preferred Automation and controls troubleshooting and problem solving ability with practical, mechanical, & electrical aptitude Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC's.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing at all levels inside and outside the organization.
  • Basic familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Google Suite (G Suite).
