Senior Process Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic improvement and technical expertise to the refinery and renewable fuels plant.
• Offer technical and operational expertise within the refinery and renewables plant.
• Identify long-term process improvement opportunities for margin enhancement, process optimization, reliability, and energy efficiency.
• Implement new technologies or best practices to boost profitability.
• Conduct higher-level monitoring and troubleshooting for refinery and renewable fuel processes.
• Lead process development activities for the refinery.
• Mentor and develop junior process engineers.
• Deliver process engineering designs and services during engineering, construction, and startup phases of projects.
• Evaluate project economics utilizing process simulations and economic models.
• Assess new technologies necessary to comply with environmental requirements.
• Collaborate closely with Environmental, Operations, and Safety teams during all phases of project development and process optimization.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 8-25 years of Process Engineering experience in a refinery, petrochemical facility, or renewable fuels plant.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with the ability to write and review reports, business correspondence, and procedures manuals.
• Proven technical expertise in process engineering.
• Strong experience in and understanding of refining and/or renewable fuels economics.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and process simulation software.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including process simulation and economic analysis.
• Effective teamwork skills and the ability to work with all levels of the organization.
• Strong mentoring skills to guide junior engineers.
