Due to the retirement of a long-term employee, manufacturer is seeking a degreed Quality Engineer to join their quality engineering team. The Quality Engineer will be assigned to a specific area of the plant and will report to the Quality Manager. Daily responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining quality assurance standards in a specific area of the plant
- Coordinating with production and engineering to maintain and improve quality standards
- Gathering documentation and information to support the PPAP process
- Leading root cause analysis in the assigned area and establishing corrective actions
- Completing internal quality audits
- Creating and updating control plans and FMEA documentation
- Monitoring new launch processes and event trials
- Developing, coaching and mentoring quality staff
- Administering quality training
- Communicating with internal partners on any quality concerns or issues
- Presenting quality results and metrics on a regular basis to the management team
- Other duties as delegated by management
Candidates should be interested in leading and participating in teams to meet quality initiatives. This position requires candidates to be on the manufacturing floor up to 30% of their day. Individuals should have excellent floor communication skills and be able to effectively communicate with front line associates. This position offers a combination of root cause analysis and new program work. Medical benefits are available the first of the month after 30 days of employment. REQUIREMENTS for the Quality Engineer:1. Minimum of a Bachelor's degree, ideally in a technical field 2. Experience working in mass production manufacturing environments
3. Experience working with quality systems (ISO, IATF, etc.)
4. Experience with root cause analysis and corrective actions
5. Experience utilizing formal problem solving tools6. Experience completing audits
7. Ability to read blueprints
8. Mechanical aptitude
9. Microsoft Excel experience, including charts, graphs and formulas Skills preferred but NOT required:1. Statistical process control 2. Automotive supplier experience 3. Six Sigma or Lean certifications
4. PPAP and FMEA documentation
5. ERP system experience
6. Launch, validation, trial runs, prototyping, etc.
