Stable, profitable and growing automotive supplier is hiring an Account Manager to join their cohesive sales and marketing team.  The Account Manager will report to the VP of Sales and Marketing and will be responsible for the following duties:  
 
  • Manage the cradle to award process for a group of established accounts, handing off to program managers for completion  
  • Oversee the P&L for the assigned customers, including the execution of the annual business plan for each customer
  • Complete customer RFQs, with the goal of writing up good, profitable business for the company
  • Utilize Smartsheet software to review quotations  
  • Schedule meetings, complete project evaluations and lead negotiation of terms with the customers
  • Responsible for initial project creation until being rewarded the business 
  • Understand the capacity of the sites that you are supplying sales support 
  • Other duties as directed by management
 
Candidates should be able to take ownership of projects and customers, be able to work independently, be goal oriented, proactive, have good character and be hands on with administrative tasks.  Travel is required for this position, up to 20-30% of the time, mostly domestic and mostly day trips with occasional travel to Mexico.  This is a hybrid position, that requires candidates to be in the office at least three days per week.  The company offers competitive medical, dental and vision benefits (available day one of employment), exceptional 401K match, paid holidays, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, HSA contribution, vacation and 20% bonus potential!  REQUIREMENTS for the Account Manager: 1. Ideally a Bachelor's degree; experience will be considered in lieu of degree 2. Depending on level of education, at least 5-10 years in a similar account manager position 
3. Comparable account management experience in automotive, heavy truck and/or heavy equipment industries   
4. Experience managing the sales process from cradle to award 5. Strong negotiation experience 
6. Mechanical aptitude, including the ability to read blueprints 
7. Experience overseeing multiple customer RFQs, plan executions and margin analysis
8. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office/Microsoft Excel
 
Skills preferred, but NOT required:
1. Metal working experience, including machining, metal forming, stamping, etc. 
2. P&L experience 
3. Bachelor's degree in Engineering
