CooperDouglas has partnered with a large and innovative manufacturing company to identify a VP of Finance & Accounting. The VP of Finance and Accounting will be a key executive partner, responsible for providing both strategic financial guidance and hands-on accounting leadership. They will provide financial oversight, strategic leadership, and operational excellence across all financial functions, including accounting, finance and treasury. The VP of Finance and Accounting  will have the opportunity to join an organization with a strong legacy, play a pivotal role in shaping its future, and build the financial infrastructure needed to support continued growth.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, grow and optimize our strategic finance team with high degrees of analytical rigor, cross-functional collaboration and a broad skill set combining finance, data, and strategy.
  • Own the annual operating plan, forecasting cadence, long-range planning, and scenario modeling.
  • Partner cross-functionally with business, product, and operations leaders to translate strategy into financial and operational goals.
  • Drive timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP; ensure a strong control environment and successful audit outcomes.
  • Develop frameworks for unit economics, contribution margins, and ROI analysis across business initiatives.
  • Build and continuously refine models and reporting to drive financial predictability and accountability.
  • Provide leadership on manufacturing cost accounting, inventory management, and margin analysis.
  • Develop budgets, forecasts, and cash flow models aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Partner with the CEO, COO, and executive team to evaluate capital investments, growth initiatives, and financial performance.
  • Manage banking relationships, treasury, and risk management.
  • Partner with the leadership team to evaluate strategic opportunities, pricing strategies, and M&A.
  • Oversee ERP implementation and improve financial systems, reporting tools, and business intelligence capabilities.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop a best-in-class accounting and finance team.
 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required; CPA/CMA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience. 
  • Proven leadership experience scaling and developing finance teams and systems.
  • Deep modeling, analytics, and problem solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with C-suite executives and influence decision-making.
  • Strong track record in manufacturing finance and cost accounting.
  • ERP implementation experience.
  • Hands-on and detail-oriented leader, able to engage directly in the accounting function while also contributing at the strategic level.
  • Proven ability to work with executive teams, ownership, auditors, and banking partners.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence across all levels of the organization.
 
Compensation range: $215,000–$250,000 + bonus
 
This is an onsite role at the company’s headquarters in Norwalk.
