CooperDouglas is partnering with a high-growth logistics company for a Director of Finance on a consulting basis for a 4–6-month project. This is a high-impact, senior-level role advising executive leadership on financial performance, operational strategy, and scalable growth initiatives. The ideal candidate is a seasoned consultant or finance leader who can bridge financial rigor with operational insight, turning complex data into actionable strategies that drive profitability, efficiency, and long-term enterprise value.
 
Key Responsibilities
 
  • Build, refine, and present advanced financial models that support multi-scenario forecasting, long-term planning, and strategic decision-making.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, delivering insights on business performance, margin optimization, and cost efficiency.
  • Lead the development of dashboards, reporting, and KPI frameworks that enhance transparency across operations, finance, and executive teams.
  • Provide consulting-level guidance on pricing strategy, cost analysis, and profitability reviews, ensuring alignment with growth and margin goals.
  • Partner cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, and sales to evaluate opportunities, resolve financial challenges, and support scaling initiatives.
  • Monitor industry benchmarks, economic indicators, and logistics-specific KPIs to inform business strategy and provide competitive context.
 
Skills & Qualifications
 
  • 7–10+ years of progressive finance experience, ideally in consulting, FP&A, or strategy roles with exposure to logistics, supply chain, or consumer products.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • Advanced modeling and analytical skills; proven ability to distill large datasets into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite strongly preferred).
  • Strong background in BI/reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar).
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence executive decision-making.
  • Track record of consulting-style engagement, balancing high-level strategy with tactical execution.
Pay range $50-80/hour + OT
Candidates MUST live in the LA/OC area and be able to commute on a hybrid basis to Long Beach.
