CooperDouglas is partnering with a high-growth healthcare SaaS company and is seeking a Director of Payments to lead and scale its payments infrastructure. This role will oversee AR/AP, billing, forecasting, and automation in support of rapid growth. The Director will sit at the intersection of healthcare operations, SaaS finance, and payments innovation, building systems that enable providers to get paid faster while ensuring scalability and compliance.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Own the end-to-end payments function, including Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP).
  • Build and optimize payment automation systems, including ACH, credit card, instant payouts, wallets, and other digital payment rails.
  • Lead forecasting, financial modeling, and payment analytics to inform strategy, improve cash flow visibility, and support business scalability.
  • Drive provider adoption of payment solutions, focusing on speed, reliability, and efficiency of reimbursement.
  • Ensure compliance with payment regulations, including PCI and fintech-related requirements, while aligning with healthcare billing standards.
  • Collaborate closely with Finance, Product, Engineering, and Operations to embed payments strategy into the broader business roadmap.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to a small team while staying hands-on with technical and tactical processes.
Qualifications
  • Strong background in payments, AR/AP, and medical billing within a SaaS or tech-enabled environment.
  • Proven experience building forecasting models and payment automation systems to support high-volume growth.
  • Advanced Excel skills required; Tableau or BI tools a plus.
  • Comfortable working in both strategic and hands-on capacities.
  • Leadership experience preferred; CPA not required but strong technical finance understanding is essential.

Competitive compensation: $180K – $200K base salary + bonus.
