TAX ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY - ENTRY LEVEL POSITION

Our client, a prominent AmLaw 100 firm, is seeking an entry-level Tax Associate Attorney to join their Affordable Housing and Tax Credit Practice Group. This is a unique opportunity to work with a dynamic and growing practice that provides sophisticated legal counsel to for-profit and nonprofit developers on complex affordable housing transactions.

 

Candidate Profile:

  • JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.

  • An Undergraduate degree in Accounting.
  • Active Bar Admission in any US state, in good standing.

  • Experience or coursework in partnership tax and federal income tax credits.

  • An LL.M. in Taxation is strongly preferred.

  • Strong analytical, research, and writing skills with keen attention to detail.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise affordable housing developers, investors, and syndicators on tax structuring, compliance, and financing strategies.
  • Provide guidance on federal, state, and local tax credits, including Low-Income Housing Tax Credits and Historic Tax Credits.
  • Assist in structuring complex real estate transactions, including acquisitions, financing, and dispositions.
  • Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, tax opinions, and transaction documents.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to navigate IRS regulations, tax credit allocations, and compliance matters.
