IP PATENT AGENT – EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES & LIFE SCIENCES

Our client, a top-ranked AmLaw 100 firm, is seeking a Patent Agent to join their Patents & Emerging Technologies Group, a premier practice consistently recognized for its expertise in patent prosecution, litigation support, and corporate IP strategy. This opening is in the firm's Silicon Valley office.
This role is ideal for candidates with a strong technical background who want to work on innovative patent matters for startups and leading technology companies.
Candidate Profile:
- A degree (M.S. or Ph.D. preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, or Physics.

2–10 years of patent prosecution experience, ideally serving as a primary contact for start-up clients.

USPTO registration required.
- Strong technical expertise and ability to work closely with inventors, scientists, and engineers on complex patent matters.
- Excellent writing, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Member of the patent bar and have superior technological background
Key Responsibilities:

Draft, file, and prosecute patent applications for emerging technologies and life sciences innovations.
- Work closely with startups and established technology companies to develop and execute IP strategies that align with their business goals.
- Provide technical analysis in patent litigation and corporate transactions requiring IP due diligence.
- Collaborate with attorneys, inventors, and in-house counsel to assess patentability, freedom-to-operate, and portfolio management strategies.
- Stay informed on technology trends, patent laws, and industry developments.

This role offers competitive compensation, with a salary range of $112,500-$250,000, commensurate with experience, and the potential for discretionary performance-based bonuses.
