They are a full-service telecom construction and maintenance services company for the largest telecommunications providers in the region. Services cover aerial and underground construction and maintenance, as well as fiber splicing, MDU installation, and vacuum excavation. About the job: This is a direct hire position in Bozeman. Duties will include general labor related to telecommunications construction. Building, repairing, replacing communications infrastructure by installing cable, conduit, vaults, pedestals, and other activities as directed. Preparing for installations using maps; work order; gathering required materials and supplies; preparing equipment; and analyzing and setting up job sites. There’s room for growth in this role. Will train the right person.Salary: $26-$30/hr depending upon experienceAbout you:
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
Prefer basic knowledge of and ability to operate various types of utility trucks and equipment in a safe manner
Ability to use hand tools and equipment in a safe manner
Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, etc.
Regular and timely attendance is essential
Must be able to perform physical work for at least 8 hours per day 5 days a week
The busy season will require some over-time work
Responsibilities:
Underground construction including loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal and placement of various types, sizes, and weight of construction materials and equipment
Hand digging using shovel and mechanical tools
Installing and maintaining underground telecommunications cabling
Maintaining visual and audible contact with other crewman and all moving or stationary persons, vehicles, objects to ensure safe coordination of movement
Maintain safe working habits/conditions according to all regulations, procedures and policies
Physical Requirements:
Duties outlined in this position will require the employee to stand, crouch, sit, bend, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, as well as reaching with hands and arms to spaces both high and low. The employee will be standing, walking, climbing, balancing, crawling, crouching, lifting, holding, or stooping while on shift.
Ability to work in adverse weather conditions which can include: extreme heat and cold temperatures; inclement weather such as wind, rain, snow, sleet and dust, as well as adverse driving conditions including wet roads, icy roads, and fog
Able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs on occasion with or without assistance
