POSITION DESCRIPTION 

RL Siteworx is seeking a results oriented, intense, and experienced Director of Project Management to inspire and hold accountable RL’s Project Management staff to RL’s standard of excellence. This role will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer and be a member of RL’s Leadership Team. The duties of this role require an intimate knowledge of project management; a clear and thorough understanding of earthwork, underground utilities, and concrete work; a personality that enjoys details; and an analytical outlook to material, equipment, cost tracking, and subcontractors.

RL Siteworx is a Houston-based underground wet utility and dirt work contractor who has provided site management services to our customers for over 40 years. RL executes and manages builder’s sites so they can focus on planning for the future. We make it flow. RL is dedicated to building a culture defined by proactive action, communication, results focused, and quality and achieving a 10-year goal of being a $400M construction contractor.

OBJECTIVES 

  • Responsible for participation in RL’s Leadership Team. This includes, but is not limited to, the following: weekly/quarterly/annual meetings, company and department L+M=A, active guidance and input regarding the department, etc.  

  • Accountable for all communications, actions, documents, metrics, KPIs, SOPs, etc. within the Project Management department.  

  • Accountable for maintaining intimate knowledge, complete understanding, and accurate documentation for everything within the Project Management department.  

  • Accountable for the continuous improvement of all departmental systems, SOPs, efforts, etc. and the documentation thereof.  

  • Responsible for the leadership, management, and morale of all team members in the Project Management department.  

  • Responsible for data collection and metric reporting regarding all concepts related to the project management department.  

  • Responsible for sourcing, evaluating, hiring, and managing all project management department roles. 

  • Accountable for the financial success of all projects.  

  • Responsible for the knowledge and enforcement of all company standards and SOPs 

  • Responsible to live out RL’s Core Values in both professional and personal settings 

  • Responsible for making accurate decisions in RL’s best interests under immense pressure and stress.  

  • Responsible for consistent contact with RL’s customers to maintain open lines of communication, beneficial relationships, and encourage customer retention.

  • Extensive and complete knowledge of construction project management principles. 

  • A willingness to learn processes and systems in a complex fast-paced environment.  

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS 

  • Undergraduate degree in construction, civil engineering, or similar field of study 

  • Postgraduate work in construction would be preferred 

 

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 

  • Not less than 15 years of experience in the project management sector of the construction industry.  

  • Not less than 5 years of experience in a director or executive level position within a construction company.  

  • References should be provided.
