Back to List

Are you ready to take full ownership of an entire IT ecosystem — not just a small piece of it?
This is your chance to be the go-to technology expert at a growing, ~45-person engineering services company where your work truly matters. You’ll be the one-person IT department — trusted, empowered, and supported to run the show.

If you’re smart, resourceful, and enjoy figuring things out end-to-end — from networks to servers to cybersecurity and beyond  — this is the kind of role that will stretch your skills and fast-track your career.

What You’ll Do

You’ll be the architect, troubleshooter, and innovator behind all things IT:

  • Own the infrastructure: Design, install, and maintain servers, routers, switches, access points, and software in both Windows and Linux environments.
  • Lead tech decisions: Work directly with the CEO to identify, source, and implement new IT assets and tools.
  • Keep our client connected: Provide hands-on desktop and network support across the organization.
  • Solve problems fast: Diagnose and resolve technical issues for employees and management.
  • Stay secure: Maintain compliance with NIST 800-171 and CMMC 2.0, and stay ahead of cybersecurity best practices.
  • Experiment and innovate: Get involved with local LLM / ML implementations and automation tools.

What You Bring

We’re looking for someone who’s as comfortable getting into the weeds as they are taking the lead.

Must-Have Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, IT, or related field and 7-15 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong foundation in networking, servers, and system security.
  • Experience with Windows Server (Domain, DNS, SSO, backups) and Linux (installation, configuration, scripting, automation via Ansible).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 / Exchange setup and troubleshooting.
  • Some familiarity with NIST 800-171 and/or CMMC 2.0 frameworks.
  • A “figure it out” mindset — you love challenges and learning on the fly.
  • Must live within commuting distance of Bloomfield, CT (on-site role).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship).

Bonus Points For:

  • CCNA or other networking certifications.
  • HPC setup and database management experience (MySQL, DevOps tools, Docker/Kubernetes).
  • Exposure to Mechanical Engineering software (SolidWorks, ANSYS, MATLAB).
  • Interest or experience in Machine Learning / Data Science (Python, TensorFlow, SQLAlchemy, etc.).

Why You’ll Love It At This Company

  • You’ll have true ownership — your ideas will shape how technology runs across the company.
  • You’ll work directly with leadership, not layers of bureaucracy.
  • You’ll build a modern IT environment from the ground up — security, automation, AI, and more.
  • You’ll join a tight-knit, engineering-driven team that values innovation, curiosity, and initiative.

If you’re looking for a role where you can make a visible impact, wear multiple hats, and grow faster than you ever could in a corporate IT department — this is it.
