Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Superintendent to lead and manage on-site construction activities for industrial projects in Lee Summit. This pivotal role involves overseeing a team of 30+ union electricians, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and delivering projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Supervision: Direct and manage all on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans and specifications. Work closely with regional managers and engineers to establish project schedules and monitor progress.
  • Team Management: Provide leadership and direction to a team of 30+ union electricians, field staff, and subcontractors. Offer mentorship and training to enhance team performance.
  • Safety and Compliance: Enforce safety protocols, conduct safety meetings and inspections, and ensure compliance with NFPA 70E and LOTO programs.
  • Quality Control: Maintain quality standards by inspecting ongoing and completed work, resolving construction issues, and navigating cable schedules.
  • Materials and Equipment: Oversee the procurement, delivery, and management of construction materials and equipment, ensuring proper utilization.
  • Budget and Cost Management: Manage project budgets, review invoices, and track financial performance using Excel to meet financial objectives.
  • Client Relations: Serve as the main point of contact for clients on-site, providing regular updates and addressing inquiries.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records, generate reports, and ensure project documentation is complete and organized.
  • Project Estimation: Assist in preparing cost estimates and collaborate with estimators to ensure accurate pricing.

Qualifications:

  • 4-6 years of experience as an Electrical Project Manager or Superintendent in industrial construction.
  • Proficient in managing a team of 30+ union electricians and delivering projects on schedule.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word for budgeting and documentation.
  • Experience with construction turnovers, cable schedules, and quality control processes.
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA 70E, LOTO programs, and construction methods.
  • Proficient in construction management software and project scheduling tools.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic construction environment.

Work Environment and Expectations:

  • Work performed in both office and construction site environments, with varying noise levels and conditions.
  • Requires flexibility in working hours to meet project demands and management directives.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and sitting at a desk.
