Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Emergency Project Management Intern to join our Emergency Management team. As an Emergency Project Management Intern, you will assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of projects related to emergency response and recovery. You will work alongside project managers and emergency management teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in alignment with safety and regulatory requirements. This internship offers hands-on experience in managing emergency-related projects and honing project management skills in high-pressure environments.

Compensation:

This pay band reflects Chloeta’s good faith estimate of the range it expects to offer; Chloeta reserves the right to alter this range if business circumstances change.

  • $18.50 per hour

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning and coordination of emergency response and recovery projects.
  • Support project managers in developing project timelines, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Help monitor project progress and assist in identifying and resolving any project-related issues or delays.
  • Assist in conducting risk assessments and ensuring that emergency projects comply with relevant safety and regulatory standards.
  • Help prepare and maintain project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and meeting notes.
  • Support the coordination of resources and logistics during emergency response efforts, including personnel, equipment, and supplies.
  • Assist in communication efforts, including preparing briefings, presentations, and updates for internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Help manage project budgets by tracking expenses and supporting procurement processes for necessary resources.
  • Support post-incident analysis and recovery efforts, including documenting lessons learned and contributing to the continuous improvement of emergency response processes.
  • Assist in conducting post-project evaluations to assess project effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with emergency management teams, first responders, and external agencies to ensure smooth project execution.

Required Education and Experience:
  • Required: Enrolled in a university or college program at junior or senior level, preferred course of study to include Project Management, Emergency Management, Public Safety, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Required: At least 1 year of administrative office or emergency management experience. 

 

 Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Expert level proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.
  • Highly organized and able to multitask.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and emergency management principles.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Interest in public safety, disaster response, and recovery operations.

 

Work Environment / Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • This job operates in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, etc.

 

Pre-employment Requirements: 

This position may be contingent upon passing a security clearance, criminal background check, drug screen, Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review, education verification, employment verification, and/or credit check after acceptance of an offer and prior to beginning work, due to the nature of the services Chloeta provides and the responsibilities of this position.
