Job Summary
The Business Development Account Executive at Chloeta plays a key role in advancing our business development initiatives for a specific client group, the United State Department of Agriculture (USDA). Chloeta is seeking an individual who possesses a consultative mindset and a deep understanding of business strategy to help define and implement effective development plans. The selected candidate will collaborate directly with federal clients to gain insight into their specific challenges and needs, utilizing expertise to craft customized solutions that set Chloeta apart from competitors and align with the client's goals. This person will also partner with internal teams to devise robust contracting strategies that foster growth and ensure long-term success. This position will be instrumental in propelling Chloeta’s broader business development objectives forward.

Duty Station: Reston, VA (remote/virtual)
Travel: Ability to travel 50% or more of the time to meet with clients and attend events
Duties/Responsibilities
Set, implement, and maintain business development goals and direction.
Drive growth through customer engagement, technical differentiation, and contracting strategies.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with government decision-makers, contracting offices, and key stakeholders.
Effectively present to government and internal stakeholders.
Conduct financial analysis, scenario planning, and forecasting.
Identify business opportunities and negotiate agreements.
Evaluate new markets and business opportunities, developing relevant initiatives.
Collaborate with support and operations teams.
Promote Chloeta’s capabilities to the designated client group.
Identify and qualify new business opportunities.
Develop account management plans and opportunity capture strategies.
Adapt strategies to shifting government priorities, budgets, and requirements.
Ensure compliance with ethics and regulations in government interactions.
Report pipeline projections and account plans to leadership.
Apply Shipley Business Development Lifecycle methodology.
Document business development activities in appropriate internal systems.
Represents Chloeta at conferences, industry days, trade shows and client visits.

Required Skills/Abilities
Proven success in sales and business development.
Demonstrated experience in capturing both large and small government contracts.
Ability to create and execute both tactical and strategic business development plans.
Strong relationship-building and business development skills.
Exceptional organizational, planning, and communication abilities.
In-depth knowledge of government procurement processes, including GSA, 8(a), and Full & Open.
Familiarity with the Shipley Business Development Lifecycle.
Proficient in using tools such as Salesforce, Microsoft Office, and Teams to communicate, present, and report.
Ability to travel frequently.
Education and Experience
Required: Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field, with 10-15 years of experience in federal government business development, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, etc.
This position may require frequent travel.
Lifting requirements – this position may be required to lift up to 30 pounds while transporting and setting up exhibition booths.
